We have some great national and international names lined up for our next group show including C215, Whatson, Dotdotdot, Mobstr and many others…
Preview : Thursday 7th May kl1900
Exhibition 8th - 23rd May.
The B-Sides exhibition brings together regional, national and international artists working within the field loosely termed Urban Contemporary Art. Urban contemporary takes its cues from urban artforms loosely associated with popular culture, comic art, tattooing, street art, graffiti, gaming culture, skate culture, music and other forms of contemporary urban expression. Much like Jazz, it’s roots lay in a combination of raw classic post war American pop culture which was later refined by a more European “art” sensibility.
B-Sides refers to those hidden gems found on the backside of mainstream “hits” pressed on vinyl. The exhibition follows the format of the 12" x 12" album cover, a format and genre regarded as an artform in and of itself.
