David Shrigley: Monotypes

650x361

We are excited to present a selection of signed monotype prints created by David Shrigley in Copenhagen in 2008 and 2011. Shrig Shop are now able to offer a rare opportunity to acquire some of these unique one-of-a-kind artworks.

Monotype is a printing technique when a single drawing is painted directly onto a printing plate. Each plate yields only one print, making the resulting monotype an original and unique piece.

Ten monotypes are available measuring 100 x 70 cm and are sold unframed.

Each artwork is priced at €4500 (including VAT). Worldwide shipping is €100.

If you have always wanted to own a David Shrigley artwork that no-one

Prints will be shipped in January 2023.

Dear ,

Manifold Editions is delighted to launch a new series of six editions by Gavin Turk, titled Holy Eggs.

Holy Eggs is a series of six collaged archival pigment prints with laser-cutting and hand-tearing by the artist, published in a limited edition of 30.

An appropriation of Lucio Fontana’s La Fine di Dio (The End of God), Turk’s eggs are dramatically perforated, their rich surface torn and pierced as the artist’s initials subliminally appear. The punctured surface forces the viewer to look beyond the picture plane, transforming these works on paper into sculptural objects.

Each work in the series is hand-finished by the artist through pushing and pulling the laser-cut holes to emphasise the vandalism of the surface. Turk describes, “As I pierce the egg I am following Fontana’s leap into the void, recreating a galaxy, a cosmos.”

RYAN STEADMAN

We are pleased to present, Books for Dummies, an online exhibition with Ryan Steadman.

In Steadman’s latest series of life-sized book paintings, the artist explores the hidden language of early 20th-century illustration through an array of luminous colors and painterly marks. By eliminating the text from a range of world-famous novels and publishing houses, Steadman allows the viewer to embrace how just a few deft marks can summarize the multitude of richly nuanced emotions these timeless stories evoke. Working as readily on the wall as they do a shelf or plinth, Steadman’s faux books remind us of the words that have changed our society’s collective outlook while reintroducing us to the ingenious and oft-overlooked illustrators who also contributed to forming our culture.
