Description
Limited-edition by Rashid Johnson, inspired by Charles Gaines’s influence throughout his career. The multimedia artist recognized for his sculptures, installations, and drawings that make use of unorthodox art materials including shea butter and incense, is also known to make his own tools to score and mark his pieces. This oyster knife is laser-engraved with “RUN” in Johnson’s handwriting and represents a unique artwork by one of the most celebrated artists of his generation. Proceeds from the sale of Run go to both Creative Time and The Charles Gaines Fellowship at CalArts, supporting Black MFA students.
