Announcing the Release of Ayako Rokkakuâs Woodcut Print Untitled 3
**Since 2020, Ayako Rokkaku has been working in ongoing collaboration with artisans who carry on the tradition of Japanâs woodcut print techniques. While remaining committed to her signature technique of painting with her fingers, she places deep trust in the artisansâ expertise and seeks to draw out qualities that only woodcut printmaking can achieve. These collaborations are a major focus of the documentary film The Baren and the Small Knife: Ukiyo-e stories connecting the ages (directed by Takako Matsumoto), scheduled for release in October 2025. Now, we are delighted to announce the release of Rokkakuâs long-awaited third woodcut print, Untitled 3. Sales will be conducted by drawing, and entry procedures and other details are provided below.
To mark the release of the new work, all three of Ayako Rokkakuâs woodcut prints will be on view at the showroom of the Adachi Institute of Woodcut Prints. We invite you to enjoy the exhibition as well as the film.
