Street Art Oslo is proud to present the first solo exhibition by Oslo-based artist Awat Serdashti.

High Heels is a collection of original sculptures, drawings and works on found objects that showcase the artists tacit understanding of form and color, accrued through decades of painting on the streets.

In recent years, Serdashti has studied at Prosjektskolen and participated in group exhibitions and events such as the art festivals Hvidsten Salong (2021) and Løkka-Lykke (2022) as part of a drive to develop his fine art practice and explore the creative possibilities presented by legal murals.

Best-known for his large-scale non-figurative paintings, it’s evermore apparent in the gallery setting that his expressive style draws on influences such as Keith Haring, Pablo Picasso and, perhaps most significantly, the American sculptor and painter Aaron Curry (b. 1972).

As well as the original artworks on display, the exhibition marks the release of a photographic print of Serdashti’s mural curated and produced by Street Art Oslo as part of Løkka-Lykke 2022.

Awat Serdashti, originally from Kurdistan, grew up in Kongsberg, Norway. He is currently living and working in Oslo.

Dog Days is a series of exhibitions from artists and projects that reflect the wider spectrum of graffiti, street and outsider art, at Street Art Oslo´s micro-gallery and garden space on Sofienbergparken.
