Hva tenker folk om dette originale maleriet av Per Kleiva, som gikk for minstepris? Var fristet til å by, men holdt meg (dessverre?) i skinnet. Var han såpass mye bedre på grafikk enn maleteknikk, eller er det motivet som ikke slår an?

wow, what a run, there’s a couple on Finn actually… but nothing like the one sold. Not a name I’m familiar with but obviously has an important place in Norwegian art history.

Olav Strømme (born 20 November 1909 in Ørsta , died 15 May 1978 in Oslo ) was a Norwegian artist. He was the nephew of the artists Karl Straume and Rasmus Strømme and the father of Tove Strømme .
Olav Strømme studied at the Norwegian School of Arts and Crafts in 1930–1931. He was then a student of Axel Revold at the Norwegian Academy of Fine Arts for half a year .

He participated in the World Exhibition in Paris in 1937 , where he attracted attention, and had his first solo exhibition in 1938.

Strømme was a pioneer in the development of abstract painting in Norwegian art. At the exhibition Art and art in Oslo during the Second World War, works by Strømme were exhibited as examples of art that the Nazis condemned.

In 1963 he represented Norway at the Biennale in São Paulo , Brazil . In the same year, he was appointed knight 1st class of the Order of St. Olav .

Strømme’s altarpiece Christ and the World hangs in Lilleborg Church in Oslo.

Det gikk tre relativt like verk, små oljemalerier av Olav Strømme hos Blomqvist til veldig høye priser 15. oktober. Jeg kjenner han ikke fra før, det er kubistiske malerier som har dratt de høyeste prisene. Men ser man på tilslagslistene hos BQ har det vært mye gode resultater i det siste.
